How to make GE fertilize orchids effectively?

GE is an acronym for Garbage enzyme which roughly translates to enzyme from garbage. GE is a mixture of organic substances such as protein chains, mineral salts, growth hormones. Currently, GE is easily produced from organic waste in the kitchen such as fruit peels, fruits, vegetables.

What is GE?

GE is an acronym for Garbage enzyme which roughly translates to enzyme from garbage. GE is a mixture of organic substances such as protein chains, mineral salts, growth hormones. Currently, GE is easily produced from organic waste in the kitchen such as fruit peels, fruits, vegetables, etc. Farmers in general, orchid players in particular often call GE organic fertilizer. GE, to be more precise, it’s fertilizers from organic waste.

So we already know what GE is. They are a form of organic fertilizer made from bananas, aloe vera, ginger, cinnamon… Generally from fruits or their waste products. These materials we soak, incubate, cover to create a favorable environment for microorganisms to grow or even transplant bacteria and fungi into it to create GE organic fertilizer.

Mechanism of action of GE on orchids

In GE organic fertilizer, there are nutrients that have been decomposed and beneficial microorganisms to help orchids easily absorb. In terms of nutrients, it depends on the source of organic materials that we bring to make GE. But most of them are full of nutrients, microelements, vitamins or hormones. Depending on the type of biodegradable organic material, this ratio varies. For example, bananas are rich in vitamin b1, potassium. Soybeans are rich in protein, eggs, calcium, and rice water are rich in B vitamins…

Microorganisms, in addition to decomposing organic materials, are also capable of synthesizing a number of substances such as growth stimulants, vitamins, amino acids.. Even capable of synthesizing nitrogen from the air and soil for plants. plant. For example, legumes are symbiotic with nitrogen-fixing bacteria in their roots. In addition, it also has the ability to antagonize other harmful microorganisms. These microorganisms also come in many varieties. Some are specialized in nitrogen decomposition, some are specialized in phosphorus, some are specialized in potassium, some are aerobic, some are anaerobic, anaerobic…

So back to orchids with GE. We see that all the effects of GE on orchids are due to the nutritional composition of the organic materials and the nutrition from the synthesis of the microorganisms that make the fertilizer. GE used to fertilize orchids was mentioned above. But GE also has the effect of healing orchids, killing insects and used as a cleaning agent.

GE after being created is acidic, has the smell of yeast (alcohol) so it has mild antiseptic properties. So when killing insects, we often use GE made from organic ingredients such as: orange peel, lemon, ginger, garlic, chili, lemongrass .. that is the effect of essential oils. As for the cleaning properties, the effect is due to the acidity of GE. For example, we use lemon to clean very clean.

That’s why you see there are so many formulas about GE nowadays. Many ways to make GE from different organic fruits and products. For example: GE made from aloe vera has the ability to disinfect and supplement microelements for orchids. GE cinnamon is used to repel slugs and prevent diseases. GE bananas add nutrients and potassium for orchids, stimulate root growth.. etc. Here I would like to share one of the ways to make GE with banana ingredients

The effect of GE on orchids

How to make GE bananas to fertilize orchids effectively

Ingredient: 300g banana, or banana peel. 100 ml pure pure sugarcane juice. Can be replaced with molasses or black sugar + 1 liter of clean water.

Making: Wash bananas or banana peels, put thin slices of iron in a plastic jar, continue to add sugar cane juice. Next, add water. Close the lid tightly and put in a place without light, soak for 90 days, it will turn into feces. Take the filter clean to get the water you will get a fecal component called GE Banana.

This is a product in the form of 10-30-30 NPK fertilizer that you often spray to make flowers on orchids. However, GE bananas also contain many other nutrients that are not found in chemical fertilizers. Plant nutrients are pictured below

Uses: This is a type of GE used to enhance nutritional supplements to help plants flower and flower well when the plant is mature.

How to use: Spraying GE in the evening will be more effective. Spraying GE mixed with manure, early morning will be more effective. Mix 3ml of GE banana with 1 liter of clean water to water the orchid. Spray 1 to 2 times a week for mature plants to flower.

GE bananas for orchids

Note when making GE bananas

GE immersion plastic bottles must be tightly sealed to prevent air from entering.

GE immersion flasks must be kept in a dark place without sunlight for the noble gases to act on organic decomposition.

About 10 days check 1 time. If the tank is inflated, screw the cap to release air.

Soak more, based on the multiplication formula.

Products that meet the requirements after 90 days will have a slight sour smell of bananas. With or without white film. The product after 90 days of taking out has a black film, without fragrance, the product is damaged. In this case, you should not throw it away, but continue to pour the soaked sugarcane juice back into the original bottle after 90 days to create a product.

Introducing other types of GE

GE bananas add nutrients and potassium to orchids, stimulate roots to grow quickly, add fertilizer 6-30-30 if you want to stimulate flowers, mix with 30-10-10 if you want to increase the ratio of 1g/10 liters of water. .

GE is made from soybeans as a plant protein that can replace a part of fertilizer to stimulate plant growth.

GE made from aloe vera adds microelements and antiseptics to orchids. In fact, I milled it like a smoothie to spray the surface of the rotten leaves and found it ok. But note that it is not 100% guaranteed not to rot, but only to reduce the rate.

GE made from ginger used to stimulate roots, increase ki. Without GE ginger, grind 100g with 500ml of water to see results

GE made from cinnamon used to repel slugs and prevent diseases for plants. You can sprinkle cinnamon powder on the surface of the pot to repel slugs, sprinkle with Asperin powder to cure rot. I see this type of slugs, but not killing slugs.

GE made from pineapple has the effect of faecal drainage. Promotes plant growth and cleans plant surfaces. In addition, it also has the effect of repelling insects (cannot kill slugs and ants).

Above is all the knowledge about GE that I know, and the common types of GE that people often use. When I have time, I will introduce in detail how to make each type.
