Guide to raising crabs to breed and earn millions

Breeding season crab farming techniques
Breeding season crab farming techniques

Talk about crab nail, people are often confused with spelling mistakes if they have not seen it with their own eyes, and if they do, it is difficult to distinguish between crabs and baba. Reproduction of clover crabs is much more complicated and difficult than the three three because although they are of the same family, their characteristics and growth are different.

Choose a quiet, secluded place with clean water and easy drainage.

– Breeding tanks with an area of 6 – 8m21.5m high and at the bottom of the tank is a layer of soil 0.3m thick, water level 0.8m.

– 1m . spawning tank2the bottom is covered with a layer of sand 0.3m thick.

Choose varieties

– This breed breed is raised in sets (1 male + 3 to 4 females).

– At harvest, choose the big and strong ones, preferably weighing over 2.5kg to raise into spawning crabs.

– when choosing parent crabs: males usually have a longer tail than females; Males often grow faster than females, so choose males that are smaller or equal to females.

Care technique

– Crab spawns from November to July, laying 2 to 4 litters (each litter from 8 to 30 eggs depending on weight)

Care for breeding crabs

Phase I: (from the time of stocking to the tank until July) still feed normally for the crabs to continue to grow.

Phase II: (from August to November): This is the stage when crabs create all the eggs laid during the year, so it is very important, it determines the number of eggs as well as the quality of the hatchlings when hatched. Provide adequate nutrition, especially foods high in protein.

Phase III: (from November to July) Crab laying eggs need a lot of calcium to create shells, so it is necessary to feed crabs with snails, crabs, ..

– In addition, it is possible to breed several males and many females to reduce the cost of building ponds if there is a large pond area (1 fish / 2 – 3m2)

Egg incubation technique

It is necessary to pay attention to the following techniques to improve the hatching rate of eggs:

Crab's eggs
Technique of hatching crab eggs

Choose a place of incubation: Choose a cool place with a temperature of 25 – 32oC, there should be a net to avoid cats, birds, mice, etc. from harm. Can be incubated in the room, brass, pots … depending on the quantity.

Collecting eggs: Eggs laid in 2 days can be collected in incubation, use a bowl with a layer of sand underneath, place the eggs gently in the sand bowl, do not invert the eggs or move vigorously.

Egg selection: Select fertilized eggs (with an opaque white part above and a white part below), round eggs with a regular thick shell.

Incubation: Incubation place is spread with a layer of sand 5 cm, put eggs on the sand layer, each egg is 1 cm apart, the air pocket (opaque white) is facing up, then spread on a layer of chopped dry soil (sieve less powdered soil) ) is 3 – 5 cm thick, then spray water on it (the jar does not stick to your hands).

Care management: Regularly monitor when the soil layer is dry, spray water on (should be once a week). If the temperature is too hot (higher than 32 degrees Celsius) or too cold (lower than 25 degrees Celsius), appropriate measures must be taken. The incubation period lasts from 100 to 105 days. When the eggs are about to hatch, place them in a pot of water to keep the crabs from hatching and crawling in without drying out. If hatching well, the hatching rate is 90%.

Technique of rearing crabs

– Newly hatched eggs are put in a bowl, 5 cm water level pot, the next day is fed, the food can be worms, shrimp, boiled sesame fish… Feed 2 times a day. After 1 week can be released into the nursery tank.

– The nursery tank must be located in a sunny place with an appropriate area of 10-20 m .2density from 10 to 20 fish/m2, there is a layer of soil on the bottom, so the design is half shallow (water level 15 cm) and half deep (water level 40 – 50 cm), can also prevent a corner of the pond for rearing. Release the water hyacinth as a shelter and let the crabs climb up to bask in the sun. Water should be changed frequently.

– Food for crabs is worms, fish, shrimp…; It is best to blend the above types for feeding twice a day.

– The farming time is from 3 to 5 months, when the crabs reach from 100 to 350g, they can be released into the pond. If done well, the survival rate is over 95%.

Important Note

– Should put a layer of mud about 30cm into the pond to help the crabs stay still and move less, because they move a lot, which will affect the growth later.

– Do not add salt to food or animals that are salty or rotten or moldy.

– If the weather is cold, you should feed crabs less, because they use less energy.

– Usually when the water is changed, this animal will not need to eat for a few days after that, this is a normal sign, not an infection.

– Crab or other turtles are usually shy, afraid of sound, so when putting food in the pond or changing the water, it should be done gently, do not stir vigorously.

Thanks to the above techniques, people can earn millions from this reproductive “female general”, a pet species that is currently very hot in the market and sought after by many giants. This article is an opportunity for those who have the will and determination to get rich. Happy successful people.
